An accomplished entrepreneur, Russell “Rusty” Rahm has enjoyed success in the media marketing, direct marketing, sales, and real estate sectors. A resident of Shawnee, Kansas, Rusty Rahm is also a powerboat enthusiast, and in 2016, achieved a rare feat in the world of organized powerboat racing.

The proud owner of 48 foot MTI catamaran Wake Effects, Mr. Rahm was a rookie driver who, along with veteran throttleman Jeff Harris, had already won the 2016 editions of the National Championships and the Florida Circuit - Superboat Unlimited category. To clinch the coveted Triple Crown in the sport that year, they would have to win the 35th Annual Super Boat International Offshore World Championship at Key West in November. The victory did not come easily.
The three-day race had 43 boats vying for honors. Due to mechanical problems, Wake Effects finished sixth on the first day. On the second day of the race, however, the team managed to pull out a second-place finish. On the third and final day, November 13, in a double-points race, Rahm and Harris grabbed first place.
When the points were tallied, the Wake Effects racing team was declared Superboat Unlimited World Champion to claim the Triple Crown. Few have accomplished this feat and for Rusty Rahm, achieving it as a rookie was a special honor.
