Passionate about boating, Rusty Rahm is also the founder of Wake Effects, the marketing arm of a speedboat racing business. Mr. Rahm and his team found success during the 2016 racing season.

In 2016, Team Wake Effects achieved the “triple crown” of powerboat racing, clinching wins in the Florida Circuit, National Championship, and Super Boat International Offshore World Championship.
Driver Rusty Rahm and throttleman Jeff Harris took the final win in the Key West race that occurred November 13-15. The race consisted of a 20-lap course over four miles. With a rocky sixth-place finish on day 1, Rahm and Harris knew they needed to up their game for the remaining races. Day 2 brought the team a second-place finish, with day 3 culminating in a win over 43 other boats.
Rahm and Harris raced a 48-foot MTI powerboat sporting twin 1,650-horsepower mercury engines. Though the craft experienced mechanical difficulties on the first day, obstacles were ultimately overcome. Wake Effects averaged 110.39 miles per hour in the race.
